It's Gonna Be a HOT One!

The weather forecast for this weekend in Pigeon Forge says it will in the low 90's. I'm not sure about you, but this mountain girl thinks that is HOT! If you are looking for ways to stay cool this summer, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg , and the Parkway, have a multitude of  budget friendly options to help you beat the summer heat. 

Hidden Mountain Resort:  Both the West and East resorts offer pool options when you rent a cabin. The pool below is within walking distance of our cabin in West. 


Pigeon Forge Community Center : The Pigeon Forge Community Center was built in 2000.  The Community Center is an 86,000 square foot recreation complex consisting of:

  • 2 racquet ball courts
  • 10 lane bowling center
  • Aquatic Center - 25 yard, 6 lane pool, shallow water baby pool
  • Child care center
  • 2 Aerobics rooms
  • Meeting room
  • 10th mile walking track
  • Wellness center

River Rage Tubing : Tubing and Go-Carts

Wildwater rafting : White water rafting for all ages and all levels. Ziplining and jeep excursions also available. 

Wild Bear Falls : Westgate's Wild Bear Falls is the latest expansion to Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This mountain-themed world-class family indoor water park features a state-of-the-art retractable roof, taking Mother Nature out of the equation! Guests can enjoy comfortable conditions year round. At more than 60,000 square feet, this is the largest indoor water park resort in the South and the fifth largest in the country. 300,000 gallons of water will flow through the park daily. 

Dollywood Splash Country  : Featuring more than 23 water adventure slides and thrill rides - from the daring drops of Big Bear Plunge, a white water rafting ride, to the twisting turns of the Mountain Scream body slide ride, discover family fun water rides and attractions at Dollywood's Splash Country. Toss in two interactive children's playground areas, the Cascades and Little Creek Falls, and you'll find family fun activities for everyone.

Of course, there are also swimming holes, creeks, and bodies of water located in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park as well; however, please be advised of safety precautions as recommended by The National Park Service.
